TSMC hands out 2011 supplier awards

SAN FRANCISCO—Foundry giant Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSMC) recognized 12 equipment and materials suppliers at its annual supply chain management forum last week.

More than 400 suppliers around the world in the fields of equipment, materials, packaging, testing, facilities, IT systems and services, export/import services, and environmental and waste management services participated in the forum, TSMC (Hsinchu, Taiwan) said.

"TSMC is a semiconductor industry leader because of our three competitive advantages: technology leadership, manufacturing excellence, and customer trust," said TSMC Chairman Dr. Morris Chang. "TSMC's success comes from its close collaboration with customers and supplier partners, and we will continue to work together and push technology forward for the sustainable growth of the semiconductor industry."

In addition to recognizing suppliers' overall performance with its "Supplier Excellence" awards, TSMC this year also established the "Supplier Achievement Award," which was given to Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co. Ltd. for environmental excellence and Greene, Tweed & Co. for supply chain resilience, TSMC said.
